Reneé Rapp on Good Hang with Amy Poehler

The Hang, in Short

Amy calls Cara Delevingne in her Paris hotel room, and Cara casually mentions her girlfriend is naked nearby. Amy's response? "That's how I imagine your life." Exactly the energy you want. Cara directed Renee Rapp's music video and came with actual questions: What would Renee's drag king name be? Who'd be in her dream girl band? Then Amy and Renee bond over the 2019 Mean Girls audition disaster. Renee was 19, wearing an infinity scarf and sweaty Lululemon. She bombed. Hard. The heels were wrong, the skirt was worse. Her ex-boyfriend picked her audition song because she wanted to sing Beyoncé and he steered her toward HMS Pinafore energy instead. She went back in skinny jeans and nailed it. They listen to her single "Leave Me Alone" together, which has major Joan Jett vibes.

  51. 2:02

    Hello Cara.

  52. 2:04

Hi. Hi. How are you? It's nice to meet

  53. 2:08

you. Have we never met? I I mean I feel

  54. 2:11

like perhaps I've walked past you at an

  55. 2:13

event and I've never stopped you and

  56. 2:15

    hugged you.

  57. 2:18

Not yet, but now. But now rude.

  58. 2:21

Like I feel like I I just I adore you

  59. 2:24

and I'm such a huge fan and I feel like

  60. 2:25

I know you so well because I think Parks

  61. 2:28

and Wreck probably saved my life during

  62. 2:30

co. So like I feel like I know you. So

  63. 2:32

if I'd seen you, I would have run up to

  64. 2:34

you and probably kissed your feet if I'm

  65. 2:37

going to be real with you. I just I just

  66. 2:39

got back from work, so I'm just getting

  67. 2:41

into my hotel room and then I will sit

  68. 2:44

down. Of course, take your time. We we

  69. 2:46

have people doing these Zooms from uh

  70. 2:49

    restaurant bathrooms, from set, from

  71. 2:53

cars. So, Oh, perfect. I'm talking to

  72. 2:55

Amy Polar. I'm on her podcast. My

  73. 2:58

    girlfriend's a big fan. She's freaked

  74. 3:00

    out. She doesn't understand.

  75. 3:03

I I would turn the camera up, but she's

  76. 3:05

naked. Oh my god. That's how I imagine

  77. 3:07

your life. That's how exactly how I love

  78. 3:09

the podcast. Yes, I know. I just We do

  79. 3:11

good hang. We are good at We're the best

  80. 3:13

hang. Okay, so we're talking to the

  81. 3:15

great Renee Rap today. Who? Exactly.

  82. 3:19

Just be your favorite. And I know Can

  83. 3:23

you tell me how you guys met? I

  84. 3:25

literally don't even think we've known

  85. 3:26

    each other that long, but

  86. 3:29

uh through my old manager was like, you

  87. 3:31

know, I always want to be behind the

  88. 3:34

camera in as many ways possible, and I

  89. 3:36

think music videos is a great way of

  90. 3:37

doing that. and he was like, "Would you

  91. 3:39

be interested in um directing a video

  92. 3:41

for Renee Rap?" And I was like, "Yeah,

  93. 3:44

obviously. Let me let's talk though.

  94. 3:45

Let's get on the phone." And what I

  95. 3:47

realized about Renee, again, for someone

  96. 3:49

who is nearly 10 years younger than me,

  97. 3:51

    she is

  98. 3:54

I mean, a consumate professional. Her

  99. 3:56

voice can just like break me to the

  100. 3:59

floor while also like lift my spirits.

  101. 4:02

But also when you work with someone

  102. 4:04

who's a musician who's also an actor and

  103. 4:06

who's so brilliant and just can like

  104. 4:08

    take direction, take notes, be

  105. 4:11

    spontaneous.

  106. 4:13

    Um,

  107. 4:15

yeah, she's so good at that. Okay. And

  108. 4:17

then, um, my question to you is, what do

  109. 4:19

you think I should ask Renee today?

  110. 4:22

    There's a lot I know about her, but I

  111. 4:24

want to hear what you think. I had so

  112. 4:26

many questions that I wanted to ask and

  113. 4:28

then I realized a lot of people won't

  114. 4:29

    understand the question. So for

  115. 4:31

everyone, the questions that I wanted to

  116. 4:34

ask her, number one was if she was a

  117. 4:37

drag king, so not a drag queen for the

  118. 4:40

people that don't know that a drag king,

  119. 4:41

so dresses in drag as a man, what would

  120. 4:43

her drag name be? Great. Very important.

  121. 4:46

What would yours be? Okay, let me think

  122. 4:49

about this. Well, I'm going to think

  123. 4:51

about the old trick where you sometimes

  124. 4:55

take the street you grew up on and your

  125. 4:58

first pet name. So, mine would be

  126. 5:02

    Bradley Alangquin.

  127. 5:06

Hot. I can imagine the dance you're

  128. 5:08

doing, too. Like, so my guy, I think,

  129. 5:10

would probably be a professor, like some

  130. 5:12

kind of professor with a mustache with

  131. 5:15

braces, a bow tie. Yeah. and just and

  132. 5:18

he's just like uh he's just kind of like

  133. 5:21

sternly telling you to get your work

  134. 5:23

    done. Obsessed

  135. 5:26

    disciplinarian professor Al Gangquin. I

  136. 5:30

can't claim this one, but someone a drag

  137. 5:32

king is called Clintit Eastwood, which I

  138. 5:35

    just

  139. 5:38

incredible. I wish I made that up. It's

  140. 5:40

not mine. I don't know what mine would

  141. 5:42

be, but I'm not the one being asked

  142. 5:43

questions. And the other question would

  143. 5:45

be Oh. Oh. If Renee had to be in a girl

  144. 5:48

band like the Spice Girls, it doesn't

  145. 5:51

matter how many people of of female

  146. 5:54

    singers, rappers, whoever, dead or

  147. 5:57

alive, who would it be? Honestly, that's

  148. 5:59

the hardest question, I think. Oh,

  149. 6:01

that's such a good question. Renee is

  150. 6:03

going to be so happy that we talked

  151. 6:06

today, I think, cuz you know, these are

  152. 6:07

always surprises. So, [ __ ] Renee. Any

  153. 6:10

excuse to talk to you, Emmy. Good night.

  154. 6:12

Anytime. Thank you. You're the best. To

  155. 6:14

anyone. Oh my gosh. But no, I love

  156. 6:16

    Renee. I'm so glad. No.

  157. 6:21

Okay. Well, just come back next week and

  158. 6:22

we'll just talk about whoever that is. I

  159. 6:24

will. I'm going to find a job to do so I

  160. 6:26

can just come and talk about it. Yes,

  161. 6:28

please. I would love that. That's how it

  162. 6:29

works. Okay. Thank you so much for your

  163. 6:31

    time. Bye.

  164. 6:34

    Renee, I'm so happy you're here. I've

  165. 6:37

been listening to your I've been lucky

  166. 6:39

enough to listen to your Can we listen

  167. 6:41

    to your song right now?

  168. 6:44

Please. Okay. Of course. I love this

  169. 6:47

    song.

  170. 6:48

Is it weird to listen to your music? I

  171. 6:51

mean, I'm forced to listen to it a lot.

  172. 6:54

So, no, it's not weird. Is this your

  173. 6:56

    first single? Mhm.

  174. 6:59

    It's fun. It's so good. It's got like a

  175. 7:02

runaways Joan Jet vibe. Yeah. Oh, 100%.

  176. 7:05

    100%. I know. I like it. And it's very

  177. 7:08

    crunchy. Thanks, dude. Thanks. I'm

  178. 7:12

partial. It's so good to like music.

  179. 7:15

100%. I really like your music. Thank

  180. 7:18

you. It's very sweet. I really like your

  181. 7:20

music. I'm glad that you like it. It

  182. 7:23

would be [ __ ] if you hated it. Yeah. I

  183. 7:25

wouldn't tell you. You know what I mean?

  184. 7:28

But but it's This record is so good.

  185. 7:31

Congratulations. We're going to talk all

  186. 7:32

about it. Thanks. Um, how are you today?

  187. 7:35

How are you feeling today? Good. Renee

  188. 7:37

Rap. Yeah. I first met you without you

  189. 7:41

meeting me. So, I guess I should say I

  190. 7:42

first saw you on Tina Fay's phone.

  191. 7:48

Love. I mean, that's kind of like a sick

  192. 7:51

thing for me to know that that's where

  193. 7:53

you've first seen me. I'm like, "Oh my

  194. 7:54

god, it's so cute." I saw Tina said,

  195. 7:58

"Listen to this woman sing basically and

  196. 8:01

played a video of you singing and we

  197. 8:04

both kind of watched it together in awe

  198. 8:07

as I imagine a lot of people do when

  199. 8:09

they first hear you sing." Thanks. And

  200. 8:12

you were, you know, I think you were

  201. 8:14

already hired maybe at that point to do

  202. 8:16

Mean Girls. Um, which was, give us a

  203. 8:20

sense of what time that was. What year

  204. 8:22

was that? probably tw probably 2019,

  205. 8:26

right? And you were how old? 19. Dang.

  206. 8:30

And what do you remember around that

  207. 8:32

time about getting that part? I was just

  208. 8:35

like so entitled. I was just so

  209. 8:37

entitled. I was just like, "Yeah, okay,

  210. 8:42

sure thing." You were like, "I got it.

  211. 8:44

Nailed it." What? Do you remember the

  212. 8:46

audition? Yeah, totally. What was it

  213. 8:48

    like?

  214. 8:49

I auditioned a bunch of times and when I

  215. 8:52

first auditioned I remember I was like I

  216. 8:54

need to dress really girly and at that

  217. 8:57

time in my life I was like

  218. 9:01

I mean I was dressing horrifically first

  219. 9:03

of all dressing like an infinity scarf a

  220. 9:06

legging like I was I was like my like

  221. 9:08

And you're telling me those are not

  222. 9:09

cool? Um no no no like I love a little

  223. 9:12

like small infinity scarf you know like

  224. 9:15

tiny knit. Yeah. But that was just like

  225. 9:18

I don't know. I was just dressing crazy.

  226. 9:20

I was dressing crazy. I had also like

  227. 9:22

just started making money. So I

  228. 9:23

discovered like athleisure and I was

  229. 9:26

like a musical theater person who was

  230. 9:28

moving to New York and I was like,

  231. 9:30

"Fuck, you guys all wear these little

  232. 9:32

    [ __ ] Lululemon skirts." Right. Right.

  233. 9:35

    Right. [ __ ] I got to get one. So I

  234. 9:38

was dressing crazy. So I was like, "All

  235. 9:39

right, I got to dress the part." Mhm.

  236. 9:42

    And I looked [ __ ] insane. I just

  237. 9:45

looked so terrible. And I remember being

  238. 9:46

like, I can't walk in these heels and

  239. 9:49

this skirt is like making my ass sweat

  240. 9:52

so crazy. I have to go home. And I did a

  241. 9:56

    terrible terrible first audition. It's

  242. 9:58

true. The wrong clothes can ruin you.

  243. 10:00

    Yeah. Big time. [ __ ] you up. I I

  244. 10:04

hated it. Hated it. Hated it up. So then

  245. 10:06

the next audition I went back, changed

  246. 10:09

clothes, wore some pants, skinny jeans.

  247. 10:13

Hey, that was nice. And I looked less

  248. 10:16

bad. Mhm. Did better. What did you sing

  249. 10:19

for your audition? Do you remember? No,

  250. 10:23

but I remember that an ex-boyfriend

  251. 10:25

    picked it out for me.

  252. 10:28

Yeah. Cuz I was like, he was a musical

  253. 10:31

theater major in college and just

  254. 10:34

smarter than I was. And he was like, oh,

  255. 10:39

I think I said something. I was like,

  256. 10:40

I'm going to sing like a Beyonce song.

  257. 10:42

And he was like like what the [ __ ] for

  258. 10:45

he's like like cool. But at that time it

  259. 10:47

wasn't like you know the girls weren't

  260. 10:50

doing pop like I think they are now.

  261. 10:52

Yeah. And um he gave me something. [ __ ]

  262. 10:55

I don't remember. He was like sing

  263. 10:57

    something from HMS Pinnhor. Literally.

  264. 11:00

He was like in a color dream coat.

  265. 11:03

Exactly. Exactly. So, I remember I did

  266. 11:05

that and then after that the auditions I

  267. 11:08

went back I just had to sing songs from

  268. 11:09

the show and that was way [ __ ] easier

  269. 11:12

cuz I hate having to make decisions.

  270. 11:14

Written by the great Jeff Richmond.

  271. 11:15

Let's give it up for Jeff Richmond who's

  272. 11:17

    an incredible musician and Tina's

  273. 11:19

husband and my friend for many years.

  274. 11:21

He's so talented. There are no two

  275. 11:22

people cuter. It's kind of outrageous.

  276. 11:24

They are a power couple. It is kind of

  277. 11:26

outrageous. And I am not the biggest fan

  278. 11:29

of musicals. Sorry. I like them. I don't

  279. 11:31

love them. I'm not either. love the Mean

  280. 11:34

Girls musical. I love the music in it.

  281. 11:35

It's really fun. It's really, really

  282. 11:37

fun. What was it like doing a Broadway

  283. 11:39

show and how many shows did you end up

  284. 11:41

doing before co hit? I mean, it was

  285. 11:43

    super [ __ ] hard.

  286. 11:46

    Um,

  287. 11:48

I don't know. I did like six and a half

  288. 11:50

months. So, I did like half of what

  289. 11:51

would have been my like contract. Um,

  290. 11:55

    just I did a ton of [ __ ] shows. You

  291. 11:57

just do literally so many. Holy [ __ ]

  292. 11:59

And the hardest part of your day is at

  293. 12:01

the end of your day. Absolutely.

  294. 12:02

Actually, do you know what? No. The

  295. 12:04

hardest part of my day was like the

  296. 12:05

mental game of waking up and waiting the

  297. 12:09

entire day. Yeah. And planning your

  298. 12:11

entire life around doing a show at

  299. 12:15

night. And I want to I know you identify

  300. 12:18

prim, you know, like you identify gay.

  301. 12:20

Yes. We're going to talk about that. No.

  302. 12:22

    No.

  303. 12:24

Rude. Yeah. But you identify as a

  304. 12:27

musician and singer in many ways more

  305. 12:29

than an actor, right? Is that Is that

  306. 12:31

true? I think so. Okay. But I do want to

  307. 12:34

just talk about the Jimmy Awards,

  308. 12:36

please. Because please, for people who

  309. 12:39

don't know what the Jimmy Awards are,

  310. 12:41

what are they for people who have never

  311. 12:42

    seen them? The

  312. 12:44

    most intense,

  313. 12:47

hormonal, um, scary. Yeah, scary. Really

  314. 12:52

intense. And I don't say that about

  315. 12:53

other people. I mean that more about

  316. 12:55

    like myself. Like I was a [ __ ]

  317. 12:56

    terror. I didn't make a friend the

  318. 12:58

entire week. So they're a high school

  319. 13:00

    competition. Yeah. Okay. So yes,

  320. 13:02

actually. So what it is is a high school

  321. 13:04

theater. I'm like went way in. Yeah. No,

  322. 13:08

it's a high school theater competition

  323. 13:10

uh all across the country. Yes. Correct.

  324. 13:13

And everyone kind of competes and a lot

  325. 13:15

of like very famous people have been

  326. 13:18

discovered through the Jimmy Awards. You

  327. 13:20

being one of them. Do you feel like you

  328. 13:22

were discovered because you did the

  329. 13:23

Jimmy Awards? Like in many ways were you

  330. 13:25

I feel like I mean it definitely like it

  331. 13:28

definitely gave me like leverage because

  332. 13:31

I was like just just kind of an [ __ ]

  333. 13:34

and I was like you guys are going to pay

  334. 13:36

attention to me whether you like it or

  335. 13:37

not. Yeah. You were really feel like

  336. 13:39

that's the when I watch your performance

  337. 13:41

on it that is definitely what I feel is

  338. 13:43

this vibe of um I'm I've arrived and I'm

  339. 13:47

    ready. You felt that then?

  340. 13:50

    Like

  341. 13:52

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. Have you

  342. 13:55

always been this kind of person, Renee?

  343. 13:56

Like a you had some kind of inner

  344. 13:58

    compass that like tells you

  345. 14:02

you have. Yeah, definitely. Yeah. Where

  346. 14:04

do you think that comes from? I

  347. 14:06

literally have no idea. Like from

  348. 14:08

    inception

  349. 14:10

to now, same way. Same way. Like always.

  350. 14:14

And don't get me wrong, like I think my

  351. 14:15

    parents have those qualities.

  352. 14:17

Absolutely. But like even before, you

  353. 14:20

know, when you're like a little tiny

  354. 14:22

thing and you start to sort of like take

  355. 14:24

on parts of your own personality and as

  356. 14:27

those become, you know, what they are, I

  357. 14:30

was always like just like super driven,

  358. 14:35

crazy, like little bit angry and like

  359. 14:39

ready to go. That's And do you think you

  360. 14:42

like and this is a little woowoo, but do

  361. 14:46

you think you've lived before? Do you

  362. 14:48

think you've been here before? Cuz

  363. 14:49

that's a very, you know, it's like did

  364. 14:51

you think you arrived with some like are

  365. 14:52

    you a reincarnated?

  366. 14:54

No, there's no way cuz I wouldn't have

  367. 14:56

come back. I'd be like, I'm not doing

  368. 14:58

    this [ __ ] again. I'm like, I'm not doing

  369. 15:00

that [ __ ] again. No, this is your first

  370. 15:02

time. You're so centered. Got to be.

  371. 15:05

From a little from a young age, you know

  372. 15:07

who you are. Definitely. I I think I'm

  373. 15:09

just very like I just always been very

  374. 15:12

feisty. Yeah. But also when when I was

  375. 15:14

like being born I guess when I was being

  376. 15:18

born and like in when I was there being

  377. 15:21

born when I was like shooting out my mom

  378. 15:25

uh like chose my first and last name to

  379. 15:29

be well okay arguably chose my first and

  380. 15:32

last name to both have like ours.

  381. 15:35

just in case she um wants to be a pop

  382. 15:38

    star,

  383. 15:40

    which is so [ __ ] assed.

  384. 15:44

And I'm obsessed with the way she did

  385. 15:46

it. I'm like, thank you, God. She gave

  386. 15:48

you a pop star name just in case because

  387. 15:51

Renee Rap is a huge pop star name. It's

  388. 15:54

a really good one. And Renee Rap is a

  389. 15:55

huge pop star. Yeah. Um, do you remember

  390. 15:58

the moment when you sang or when you

  391. 16:00

watched people realize that you had an

  392. 16:03

    exceptional voice? You have an

  393. 16:04

    exceptional voice, beautiful voice that

  394. 16:07

can do don't so many things. And

  395. 16:09

everybody says like, "Oh, my kid's a

  396. 16:10

good singer. You know, my daughter loves

  397. 16:12

to sing." Whatever. But there is always

  398. 16:14

a moment where somebody sings and

  399. 16:16

everyone looks at each other and says,

  400. 16:18

    "Holy [ __ ] she's really good." Do you

  401. 16:20

remember a moment where you or someone

  402. 16:23

locked in and knew you know your

  403. 16:25

ambition and talent were matching? Mm-

  404. 16:29

It didn't match for a very long time.

  405. 16:31

Really? No, I don't think. Well, are you

  406. 16:34

hard on yourself? 100%. But also, my

  407. 16:37

parents were never like, "My kid's a

  408. 16:40

[ __ ] star." Yeah. They were like like

  409. 16:42

I would I would like come off of like a

  410. 16:45

stage or even like I played a lot of

  411. 16:46

sports growing up come off the field

  412. 16:47

like court whatever and they'd be like

  413. 16:50

you know where you messed up and I'd be

  414. 16:52

like I'm five this is crazy this is

  415. 16:56

crazy but also my dad has relative pitch

  416. 16:59

so he's very musically inclined relative

  417. 17:02

pitch so basically like if I was flat

  418. 17:05

he'd know like he has a really good ear

  419. 17:08

really good ear so he was always like

  420. 17:13

you you know where you were flat, right?

  421. 17:15

    So I was I was like [ __ ] So they were

  422. 17:17

really getting you trained like you're

  423. 17:19

you're are you trained or did you ever

  424. 17:21

do any musical training like any I did

  425. 17:23

like I was in choir. Yeah, I was in

  426. 17:26

choir. I took piano lessons um when I

  427. 17:29

was a kid but they give me panic

  428. 17:32

attacks. I got very stressed and I would

  429. 17:34

start crying. So I stopped. Good. Got

  430. 17:38

rid of that. But I did I feel like choir

  431. 17:41

was like how I learned kind of how to

  432. 17:43

like blend. So I don't want to say like

  433. 17:46

no I have no training. What were you?

  434. 17:48

Were you alto? What were you in your I

  435. 17:50

was alto in choir. You have the hardest

  436. 17:53

lines. Thank you so much. You have the

  437. 17:54

hardest lines. Yeah. Cuz altos sing like

  438. 17:58

they're far away from the choir and

  439. 18:01

singing a different song. Yes. Oh 100%.

  440. 18:03

They're just like and I will.

  441. 18:07

Yeah. And the sopranos or what were you?

  442. 18:09

Were you soprano? I was I was a soprano.

  443. 18:11

Congrats. I was a soprano. Thank you.

  444. 18:13

But also sopranos are [ __ ] Like if

  445. 18:15

    you're a soprano

  446. 18:17

like oh congratulations. You you get to

  447. 18:19

sing the song, right? Exactly. The altos

  448. 18:21

have to sing some weird durge that is

  449. 18:24

underneath. Not even of course. It's

  450. 18:26

like you know the um All I Want for

  451. 18:28

Christmas is what the [ __ ] alto line.

  452. 18:31

Okay. What is it? It's just like Okay.

  453. 18:34

You sing the I don't want to for

  454. 18:36

Christmas. There is just one thing I

  455. 18:40

    need. And I

  456. 18:45

like it's the same [ __ ] the whole song.

  457. 18:49

And that's exactly what being an alto in

  458. 18:51

a choir is. And then occasionally having

  459. 18:54

to memorize the most difficult line of

  460. 18:58

music that has nothing to do with what

  461. 19:00

the song is. Couldn't be less. It is so

  462. 19:03

confusing. And you know what happens

  463. 19:05

when those altos go away? The song falls

  464. 19:07

apart. Falls apart. You have like a very

  465. 19:09

shrill pitchy soprano and like tenor

  466. 19:12

boys who are like not at all developed

  467. 19:14

yet singing like [ __ ] Yeah. The altos

  468. 19:17

are gone. The bottom of the pyramid. The

  469. 19:19

altos are like when you do the

  470. 19:20

cheerleader pyramid. If all those bottom

  471. 19:23

gals decided to just leave. What are you

  472. 19:26

What are you doing when the bottoms are

  473. 19:27

gone? We always say that. What are you

  474. 19:29

going to do when the bottoms are gone?

  475. 19:31

Nothing to top. Nothing. Nothing to top.

  476. 19:34

No one to top if the altos are removed.

  477. 19:36

That's why my girlfriend needs me.

  478. 19:38

That's it, right? She needs me. It's

  479. 19:40

interesting what I'm realizing is I'm

  480. 19:42

asking you these like Yeah. technical

  481. 19:44

questions, but I'm realizing how you

  482. 19:46

come to singing is very intuitive. It's

  483. 19:48

like what you're feeling in the moment.

  484. 19:50

Totally. So, do you do vocal warm-ups?

  485. 19:52

No. Incredible. Hate. Can't do it. Don't

  486. 19:55

like them. Mhm. Don't like them. Makes

  487. 19:57

me too anxious. Puts me in my head.

  488. 19:59

    Anytime I've ever done a warm-up before

  489. 20:05

    a performance,

  490. 20:07

I have done. So, [ __ ] That is so

  491. 20:11

interesting. I I can understand that cuz

  492. 20:13

it then becomes very important. Yeah.

  493. 20:16

And I'm like thinking about it and I'm

  494. 20:18

    thinking about the like different

  495. 20:20

technicalities or whatever my voice and

  496. 20:22

    I don't that's not how I learned how to

  497. 20:26

    sing. So, I don't think

  498. 20:29

Whenever I try and do that, it's kind of

  499. 20:31

like going back on the actual thing that

  500. 20:34

I know how to do. How did you learn how

  501. 20:36

to sing? How would you describe it?

  502. 20:37

Listen to Beyonce. Tried to match it.

  503. 20:40

Like genuinely like I was like, "Well,

  504. 20:43

this is it." Yeah. So, I got to do that.

  505. 20:46

Yes. You know, you like you let music

  506. 20:49

come from all around you and you and

  507. 20:51

like you you brought music in and you're

  508. 20:53

less concerned about trying to be 100%.

  509. 20:57

Yeah. 100%. Have you met and talked to

  510. 20:59

    Beyonce?

  511. 21:01

    I I have met

  512. 21:04

I have met Beyonce. Would you like to

  513. 21:06

tell us? Would you like to tell us how?

  514. 21:08

I was forced. Okay. By management. No.

  515. 21:12

Um by one of my best friends who is like

  516. 21:17

just she will always introduce me to

  517. 21:19

someone. Always. She's like you must.

  518. 21:22

And for Beyonce she was like this is

  519. 21:24

your like hero. like this is your set

  520. 21:28

the scene. Where were you? So, we were

  521. 21:30

at a party after I just told everybody

  522. 21:33

um at this Oscars party that Nemo was

  523. 21:35

the best film ever made and they're

  524. 21:37

like, "Cool, she's going to work for a

  525. 21:39

    long time."

  526. 21:41

and we went to an afterparty and I was

  527. 21:45

with like two or three of my really good

  528. 21:47

friends and my friend Cara is like the

  529. 21:51

best person to have out with you because

  530. 21:53

she is like your biggest cheerleader

  531. 21:55

ever. Is that Cara Deivine? Yes. She

  532. 21:59

like she will take you she just like

  533. 22:03

will literally she'll be like Rene I got

  534. 22:05

to like hold you for a sec. like she's

  535. 22:06

like one of the greatest friends on

  536. 22:07

planet Earth, but knows how much I love

  537. 22:09

Beyonce and is really fearless about it.

  538. 22:13

And um I was like, "Oh my [ __ ] god."

  539. 22:16

I was like, "Byc is literally standing

  540. 22:18

here. That's so crazy." And the whole

  541. 22:20

day she had been saying she was like,

  542. 22:21

"We're just going to introduce you to

  543. 22:22

her like like they invited you. Like

  544. 22:24

it's okay. Like she like you guys like

  545. 22:26

I'm sure that she loves you." I was

  546. 22:28

like, "No, no, no. Like we really should

  547. 22:30

like tone it down." Mhm. And I was Did

  548. 22:35

you see her in the room? Yeah. No,

  549. 22:37

definitely. Okay. You had some liquid

  550. 22:38

courage. She was in the room. Yeah, she

  551. 22:40

was in the room. And um very blonde and

  552. 22:43

I think like probably the most beautiful

  553. 22:45

person I've ever seen um in real life

  554. 22:49

ever. And I love my girlfriend, but like

  555. 22:52

she knows you don't compete where you

  556. 22:53

can't compare. And I I like that saying.

  557. 22:57

Can't like can't like what are you going

  558. 22:58

to do? You put anyone in a category with

  559. 23:00

Beyonce, it's going down. So, sure. Cara

  560. 23:04

was like, "You must say hi to her." I'm

  561. 23:05

like getting so anxious talking about

  562. 23:06

it. It makes me I'm like, I could vomit.

  563. 23:09

She was like, "You have to." And I was

  564. 23:11

like, "You walk me up there, [ __ ] and

  565. 23:13

I will kill you. I'll kill you in front

  566. 23:15

of everybody here." Sounds like you

  567. 23:17

    meant the opposite.

  568. 23:19

The truth is I didn't. You didn't. Oh,

  569. 23:22

she dragged me. And I was like having

  570. 23:24

such a like a visceral rea. I was like,

  571. 23:26

"This is my hero. I can't do this. I

  572. 23:28

would never even like want to bother her

  573. 23:30

    or anything. And

  574. 23:33

I just And she was like, "Oh my god."

  575. 23:34

Hi. I was like, "You don't have to do

  576. 23:37

that. It's okay." Um, love you. Lovely

  577. 23:41

to meet you. You got really sleepy. And

  578. 23:43

    I I just was like I like couldn't look

  579. 23:45

at her at all. I also was super um I

  580. 23:49

love to have a good time and I was gone.

  581. 23:51

So I was like, "Hey, so nice to meet

  582. 23:53

you. Thanks for having was like, you

  583. 23:54

know, you like basically you hurried her

  584. 23:56

along. Oh, she didn't get a word in

  585. 23:58

edgewise. I was like, I got to go. And

  586. 23:59

she was like, oh, it's so lovely. I

  587. 24:01

said, no, no, don't even worry about

  588. 24:02

    that.

  589. 24:04

You just have a good night, ma'am. I'm

  590. 24:06

going to head on out. We're going to get

  591. 24:07

you in the car now and you're going to

  592. 24:08

we're going to get you home because

  593. 24:10

literally I turned around maybe 3 ft.

  594. 24:13

Middle of a party. Middle of a party.

  595. 24:16

Screamed top of my lungs. Turned around

  596. 24:18

at Cara and I was like And she was still

  597. 24:21

very close. Yeah, she was super close. I

  598. 24:22

could have walked a bit further, but I

  599. 24:25

was so I was like, I can't do this. It

  600. 24:28

was the greatest night of my life. Do

  601. 24:29

you want Do you want to meet her again?

  602. 24:31

And do you think you'll be cooler when

  603. 24:32

you No, that's it. We can't talk. You

  604. 24:35

mean like sometimes you just don't want

  605. 24:37

    to meet I can't I can't also she'll be

  606. 24:40

like this woman just screamed like 2

  607. 24:41

feet away from me and I'll be like I

  608. 24:42

totally did. I'm so sorry. Like how

  609. 24:44

could I ever do that around your your

  610. 24:46

ears? She probably is used to people

  611. 24:48

like hearing people totally Yeah. tweak

  612. 24:52

tweak after they meet her. For sure. I

  613. 24:54

once met Prince at SNL. Um he came off

  614. 24:57

stage after doing soundcheck and walked

  615. 24:59

past me and I said, "How was your

  616. 25:01

summer?" That was what I said to him.

  617. 25:03

What did he say? He was like, he just

  618. 25:05

    went like, "Hey." You know,

  619. 25:08

like, "Can you imagine that being the

  620. 25:10

question you asked Prince?" Yeah. Um

  621. 25:12

terrible. No, it's good. Okay. Let me

  622. 25:14

talk about your album. Okay. Because

  623. 25:17

this music, your record, what's the name

  624. 25:18

of your record? Bite me. Amazing. Yeah.

  625. 25:22

I kind of forgot was like I was like,

  626. 25:25

"Yeah, got it." Yeah. Okay. Bite me. So

  627. 25:27

incredible. And it is very I was talking

  628. 25:30

to you when we were Hold on. I got to

  629. 25:31

play the song. Go because um stream my

  630. 25:36

    [ __ ] Yeah. Okay. So that's what music

  631. 25:37

is is you stream it now. I guess. Yeah.

  632. 25:40

    You just stream it now.

  633. 25:44

    [Applause]

  634. 25:45

It's funny that you say cannonball.

  635. 25:47

Sorry. You're so cute. No, please don't.

  636. 25:50

Hold on. Nana needs to listen to it

  637. 25:51

again. Hold on, Nana. Um, come on, Nana.

  638. 25:54

It's funny. Come on, Nana. Let's go.

  639. 25:55

    Nana's get on up.

  640. 25:59

No, but you know what's funny that you

  641. 26:01

say cannonball in it cuz it did have a

  642. 26:03

Breeders vibe. Like there's a heavy like

  643. 26:06

PJ Harvey vibe like and what and what I

  644. 26:11

like about your music is I feel like I'm

  645. 26:14

in conversation with you. You You're in

  646. 26:16

conversation with us. Totally. I mean

  647. 26:18

hopefully yeah and there's not to get

  648. 26:20

too you know like but I did um you know

  649. 26:23

I don't always do research on the guests

  650. 26:25

cuz like I understand um cuz I'm like

  651. 26:28

it's okay of course but um I did listen

  652. 26:30

to all of your songs many many times. Oh

  653. 26:32

my god. Thank you. And so I just want to

  654. 26:34

I want everyone to know that but no but

  655. 26:36

um two songs that the one Why is she

  656. 26:39

still here and I can't be is it I can't

  657. 26:41

be around you anymore. Oh yeah. Yeah.

  658. 26:44

Those two songs everyone listen to those

  659. 26:47

two. They feel like they're from the

  660. 26:50

perspective of a two women in the same

  661. 26:52

like it it's it's very cool coupling

  662. 26:55

those two songs. They're great songs.

  663. 26:57

Thank you. Thank you. They're they're

  664. 26:59

like some of my favorites. That is true.

  665. 27:01

They're kind of A and B to each other.

  666. 27:02

Right. One is like why is she still

  667. 27:04

here? What's going on? And the other is

  668. 27:07

there's something going on. We can't

  669. 27:09

really handle and I can't be around you

  670. 27:11

anymore is that's a killer song. Thank

  671. 27:14

you. I I'm obsessed with that song. I

  672. 27:16

love that song. And that's a good

  673. 27:17

example, I feel like, of where you're

  674. 27:19

able to show like show restraint cuz you

  675. 27:21

have to kind of sing it. You're you're

  676. 27:23

you're singing it in a way that really

  677. 27:25

makes us feel some like really feel it

  678. 27:28

deeply. It's so good. Thanks. It's

  679. 27:30

really It's It's going to be a late

  680. 27:32

night driving song for a lot of people.

  681. 27:34

    That's

  682. 27:36

it is for me. Yeah. 100%. And it's going

  683. 27:38

to be the kind of song that people send

  684. 27:40

to each other like, "Hey." And they're

  685. 27:41

just going to send it and be like, "I

  686. 27:43

can't see you anymore cuz we're we have

  687. 27:45

too much chemistry." Hey, girl. Exo. XO.

  688. 27:48

    They're like, "We're actually I mean, is

  689. 27:50

there anything hotter than being like,

  690. 27:51

"We can't see each other anymore." So

  691. 27:53

hot. Yeah. It's like, "We literally

  692. 27:55

can't. We have You have to leave me

  693. 27:56

alone." Of course. So then you do. You

  694. 27:58

have to see that person again. Yeah.

  695. 28:00

Must all the time. You can't you you

  696. 28:02

have to, but you can't. It's too

  697. 28:04

    dangerous. It's forbidden. It's

  698. 28:06

    forbidden. Romeo and Juliet. Damsel.

  699. 28:08

[ __ ] Balcony. Yeah. Yeah. Speaking of

  700. 28:12

    suicide, balcony suicide. Balcony

  701. 28:15

suicide. Um, watch. Speaking of love,

  702. 28:18

    suicide.

  703. 28:21

Speaking of love. Mhm. How did you meet

  704. 28:24

    your girlfriend? Um, similarly locked

  705. 28:27

her in my house. Kind of same thing to

  706. 28:29

Beyonce. Um, Toa Bird for people who

  707. 28:33

    don't know, an incredible musician,

  708. 28:36

um, opened for you and was kind of

  709. 28:39

discovered. um like online, right? Like

  710. 28:42

performing and doing videos like during

  711. 28:44

the pandemic online. Yes. Yeah. We

  712. 28:45

always joke around that we're like the

  713. 28:47

two Tik Tok signings at at our at our

  714. 28:50

label. I had known of her for like the

  715. 28:52

longest time cuz she's super talented

  716. 28:54

and is really sexy. And so obviously I

  717. 28:59

knew of her and um cuz all the sexy you

  718. 29:02

you clock all the sexy. Yeah. Yeah. I

  719. 29:04

have like a rolodex. I got a list and

  720. 29:05

like who's hot. Got it. Um, but yeah,

  721. 29:10

she I was I just always like thought she

  722. 29:12

was just so [ __ ] cool. And I had

  723. 29:16

asked one of my best friends to

  724. 29:18

    introduce me to her. And

  725. 29:22

yeah, I was like, "You have to introduce

  726. 29:23

me to her." He was like, "I don't know

  727. 29:24

if she's like um in a place in her life

  728. 29:27

where she's like wanting to like meet

  729. 29:29

    anyone." I was like, "I really couldn't

  730. 29:30

    give a [ __ ] less." Um I'm not either,

  731. 29:33

but I'm going to meet her. We need to be

  732. 29:35

at least be friends. Yeah. You were

  733. 29:37

like, I there's something about her that

  734. 29:39

feels Yeah. I was like, I need like I I

  735. 29:42

need to know her like super bad. And so

  736. 29:45

then he introduced me to her and she was

  737. 29:47

so [ __ ] mean to me. And I was like,

  738. 29:50

wait, in what way? That loved it. But

  739. 29:53

she's scary. She's like, yeah, well,

  740. 29:56

she's like from the UK, so like her

  741. 29:58

humor is also super different, but she's

  742. 30:00

also just such a [ __ ] Tell what did

  743. 30:02

she say? Well, I was like, I've heard so

  744. 30:05

much about you. And she was like, "Why

  745. 30:07

are you talking so much about me then?"

  746. 30:09

And I was like, "She's really negging

  747. 30:10

you." Yeah. I was like, "Oh my god." And

  748. 30:12

then speaking of negging, the next time

  749. 30:14

we talked, I was We were talking about

  750. 30:16

Cars cuz I love Cars and also the movie.

  751. 30:20

    Good animated film. Holy [ __ ] I always

  752. 30:23

say, "Holy shit." I always say that

  753. 30:25

Larry the Cable Guy should have been

  754. 30:26

nominated for an Oscar. I mean, it's

  755. 30:28

    horrible. His performance as to

  756. 30:31

    unfucking real.

  757. 30:33

hear laughter and that's rude because

  758. 30:35

it's true. It is true. He his

  759. 30:37

performance is incredible in cars. No,

  760. 30:38

    it's it's stunning. Agree. It's

  761. 30:39

stunning. I just rewatched Cars too

  762. 30:41

recently. I cried in bed obsessed with

  763. 30:43

it. But anyway, how [ __ ] Oh, okay. So,

  764. 30:46

we were talking about cars and she was

  765. 30:48

telling me what kind of car she drove at

  766. 30:50

the time and I was like, "Oh, that's so

  767. 30:51

interesting. I wouldn't like peg you for

  768. 30:52

someone who would drive a car." And she

  769. 30:54

looked at me or who would drive a car

  770. 30:55

who would drive that kind of car. And

  771. 30:56

she was like, "Oh, you don't want to peg

  772. 30:58

me?" And I was like I was like, "Oh my

  773. 31:00

god." I was freaking I was like freak. I

  774. 31:02

was like, I am so confident and so like

  775. 31:05

she she she o she she over she went over

  776. 31:08

the top. She she topped a top. She

  777. 31:11

literally topped to top. She outflirted

  778. 31:13

me. She tiptoed. She tip top to top. She

  779. 31:15

tiptoed on my top. You like confidence.

  780. 31:18

Love. Okay. Love. And what would be

  781. 31:22

Okay, so she's super confident and then

  782. 31:24

    you're like, "Okay, now now she's a

  783. 31:26

challenge." Yeah, of course. I was like,

  784. 31:27

"Now now I'm like you just you you you

  785. 31:30

want me so bad. Just say it. You want

  786. 31:32

me. That is true. Yeah. It was awesome.

  787. 31:34

Yeah. And so then you started dating.

  788. 31:37

Yeah. Then we started dating. And then

  789. 31:38

who said I love you first? She she told

  790. 31:42

me I'm so sorry but she told me we were

  791. 31:46

sat on the beach and hi um out of our

  792. 31:51

minds. Okay. Sorry. And I was so beyond

  793. 31:56

in love with her. Like I've never been

  794. 31:58

so scared to like fall in love with

  795. 32:00

somebody in my life. I was like, "Oh

  796. 32:01

Jesus." I was like, "We're either going

  797. 32:02

to get married or I can never speak to

  798. 32:04

her again." Like it's like that kind of

  799. 32:06

like I just am so I like worship her. I

  800. 32:10

think she's perfect. And yeah, she was

  801. 32:14

like, "I think I'm falling in love with

  802. 32:15

you." And I literally didn't answer.

  803. 32:16

Didn't say a word. I'm on shrooms. The

  804. 32:20

sun is setting. I'm like, "It's a bit

  805. 32:22

cold. There's like a Tik Tocker behind

  806. 32:25

us that I'm obsessed with." Who? Which

  807. 32:26

one? Her name is Flossy Baby. Oh, I

  808. 32:28

know. Flossy Baby. She couldn't be more

  809. 32:30

hilarious. She was behind you during it.

  810. 32:32

She's behind us on the beach, but I

  811. 32:34

can't say anything to her cuz I'm like,

  812. 32:35

Flossy, she doesn't know me at this

  813. 32:37

point. Yeah. A lot going on. Yeah, we

  814. 32:39

know each other now cuz I broke

  815. 32:40

everything down to her on to's birthday

  816. 32:41

cuz I invited her. I said, you don't

  817. 32:42

understand what a big part of our lives

  818. 32:44

you are. Flossy baby. I'm obsessed with

  819. 32:47

her. And so to was telling me this and I

  820. 32:50

was like and but I was hi distracted by

  821. 32:53

Flossy Baby. I was like I was like I was

  822. 32:56

like there's no way she just said this

  823. 32:57

to me and what if I'm receiving it wrong

  824. 32:59

because of things that are impairing uh

  825. 33:02

yeah my thought process and natural

  826. 33:04

plants. So I didn't say anything and I

  827. 33:06

    said

  828. 33:08

repeat one more time and she was like

  829. 33:11

are you [ __ ] kidding me right now? I

  830. 33:13

was like sorry sorry let me lock back

  831. 33:14

in. I love you too. Like I was like of

  832. 33:17

course and it was the craziest I love

  833. 33:20

you too. Of course I wait love you too.

  834. 33:22

I love you too. Of course, honey, you're

  835. 33:24

so cute. And yeah, I was just like, I'm

  836. 33:27

obsessed with you. And Flossy Baby's

  837. 33:28

here, too. It was awesome. It was

  838. 33:31

awesome. It was so fun. It was so fun.

  839. 33:34

Wow. So, it really feels like real true,

  840. 33:38

beautiful love. I love love. That's so

  841. 33:41

great. And what is it like working

  842. 33:43

together? You guys have been on like do

  843. 33:45

you tour together now still? We did. I

  844. 33:47

mean, she'll we'll like we'll go out for

  845. 33:50

shows for Will she be playing with you

  846. 33:52

for any of these shows that you're going

  847. 33:53

to do? 100%. Wow. What's that like? How

  848. 33:56

    do you stay

  849. 33:58

in love and work together? It's not

  850. 34:01

always easy. No, I mean she like I think

  851. 34:04

I just respect her so much as a musician

  852. 34:06

    that

  853. 34:08

    I

  854. 34:09

am kind of always looking to her. Um,

  855. 34:13

like seeking her approval kind of sounds

  856. 34:16

    like she's doing something really

  857. 34:17

terrible to me, but like I'm like I'm

  858. 34:19

always Yeah. Like I want to know. I I

  859. 34:22

really respect her opinion. I really

  860. 34:24

respect her opinion. And I think she has

  861. 34:25

amazing taste. And I think that there

  862. 34:28

are so many things and and ways that

  863. 34:30

she's so much smarter than me. And I

  864. 34:32

love having that in a partner because I

  865. 34:35

want to learn from her all the time. Um,

  866. 34:39

but there have also been times where

  867. 34:40

like we've worked in sessions together

  868. 34:42

and we're writing for each other's

  869. 34:44

projects and um, she's super fun to

  870. 34:47

write with. so easy to collaborate with.

  871. 34:50

And I don't think I'm as much like that

  872. 34:52

for her cuz we were writing and God

  873. 34:54

bless her, we we like left and I was

  874. 34:57

like, "You seem you seem a bit upset

  875. 34:59

with me." And she was like, "No, I just

  876. 35:02

    like I don't think I I don't think you

  877. 35:04

needed to like nitpick my vocals all

  878. 35:08

that much." And I was like, "Got it, got

  879. 35:10

it, got it." So, what had happened was I

  880. 35:12

was like trying to vocal produce her on

  881. 35:14

like a demo for like the better part of

  882. 35:17

an hour and a half and I was like again

  883. 35:20

again. You were like I I I can tell when

  884. 35:22

you're a little flat. Yeah. Is it Sorry.

  885. 35:24

Do you know where you were wrong? She

  886. 35:26

was like cool. So, I don't know if she

  887. 35:28

wants to work with me again, but but I

  888. 35:31

love working with her. Love working with

  889. 35:33

her. I don't think I'm maybe the person

  890. 35:34

for her, which I totally get. I'm a bit

  891. 35:37

neurotic. It's funny. You are a bit

  892. 35:40

neurotic. You don't seem neurotic. Um,

  893. 35:42

in like a studio setting, I I'm pretty

  894. 35:45

insufferable to be around. You want to

  895. 35:46

get it right. Yeah, it's got to be. It's

  896. 35:49

    got to be it.

  897. 35:57

the two of you are very very sweet

  898. 35:59

together and very very like you know I

  899. 36:02

know that the you know the people that

  900. 36:03

are fans of yours like already know this

  901. 36:05

    but

  902. 36:07

you're very um you're very sweet example

  903. 36:11

I think of like a beautiful young

  904. 36:14

lesbian couple that are very open and

  905. 36:18

very loving in real time and it goes

  906. 36:21

back to I think Renee something that's

  907. 36:23

very special about you which is you very

  908. 36:26

    generously like shared

  909. 36:29

in many ways with the world your own

  910. 36:31

journey about how you wanted to identify

  911. 36:34

and I'm thinking about this story that I

  912. 36:36

    heard when you did SNL

  913. 36:40

and you were working with the writer

  914. 36:41

Celeste and do you want to tell that

  915. 36:43

story? I mean it's the best. It's the

  916. 36:45

    incredible story. It's so it's it's the

  917. 36:47

best. I So they Celeste and a couple of

  918. 36:51

other people had written into the skit

  919. 36:54

that I was doing. Um they're like,

  920. 36:57

"Okay, we're going to call you a little

  921. 36:58

bisexual intern." And at that time I was

  922. 37:01

like very like publicly bisexual. I had

  923. 37:03

been for a very long time. And like in

  924. 37:06

private I was like talking with my

  925. 37:07

girlfriend and a lot of my friends for

  926. 37:09

the last maybe like 8 months before that

  927. 37:11

of being like I actually like don't

  928. 37:13

really feel very like by at the moment.

  929. 37:16

And I feel like very much like a lesbian

  930. 37:19

and like it feels so nice and like that

  931. 37:22

word feels amazing and feels very like

  932. 37:24

euphoric for me. So I was like do you

  933. 37:27

think that we could just change it to

  934. 37:29

like gay? cuz I was honestly a little I

  935. 37:31

    don't know like labeling yourself

  936. 37:33

    publicly is

  937. 37:35

really really really empowering and also

  938. 37:39

I think can be kind of intimidating

  939. 37:42

    because you're like Jesus [ __ ] Christ

  940. 37:44

this feels so good for me right now and

  941. 37:46

I don't want to go by something that

  942. 37:48

doesn't feel correct but I'm also going

  943. 37:51

to like give myself the willingness to

  944. 37:53

be like what if in 10 years I don't like

  945. 37:56

that identity either and I just want I

  946. 38:00

don't know like what if in 10 years I'm

  947. 38:01

completely different in terms of my

  948. 38:03

identity and sexuality or like my gender

  949. 38:05

expression, anything like that. Or if I

  950. 38:08

decide to be a really nice person, then

  951. 38:10

    I want to be like, wait, I'm [ __ ]

  952. 38:11

nice now, right? I want to have the

  953. 38:13

grace to be able to change from being a

  954. 38:15

    [ __ ] to being a sweetheart. So,

  955. 38:17

whatever. But yeah, I I was just like I

  956. 38:20

maybe like gay, I don't know. And

  957. 38:22

Celeste was like, "Fuck yeah." Like

  958. 38:24

literally whatever you want. And I was

  959. 38:25

    like, "Okay, a [ __ ] love Celeste."

  960. 38:28

And then I was talking to Bowen about it

  961. 38:30

and I was like I kind of just want to be

  962. 38:32

    like

  963. 38:34

like slur. No, I kind of just want to be

  964. 38:36

like like lesbian. I was like I'm just

  965. 38:38

going to kind of do it. And I called Toa

  966. 38:40

and then I was like babe I think I'm

  967. 38:42

just going to like rip like I think it

  968. 38:43

like feels good also to like come out as

  969. 38:46

a lesbian and like SNL is like pretty

  970. 38:48

    [ __ ] I was like I'm going to do it for

  971. 38:50

sure. And I was also like, "Okay, I'm

  972. 38:53

probably going to disappoint a lot of

  973. 38:54

people who felt like they connected with

  974. 38:56

like the very openly bisexual part of

  975. 38:58

me, and I'm also probably going to piss

  976. 38:59

a lot of other people off." And I was

  977. 39:01

like, "Okay, what else do I live to do

  978. 39:03

other than like cause like a

  979. 39:04

controversy? Sue me." Like, fine. Okay.

  980. 39:08

    What a big [ __ ] problem. So then I

  981. 39:10

just I wanted to do it and Bowen and

  982. 39:12

Celeste and everybody were like, "Hell

  983. 39:14

    yeah." What's been the feedback?

  984. 39:17

What how did it feel to do it? And what

  985. 39:19

did anything change after you did it? I

  986. 39:21

mean, I definitely I kind of just like

  987. 39:23

didn't even like look online afterward

  988. 39:25

cuz I was like I don't How did it feel

  989. 39:27

in your life? In your real life?

  990. 39:29

Nothing. Amazing. So [ __ ] good. Like

  991. 39:32

so [ __ ] good. I think also just like

  992. 39:34

    being from somewhere incredibly rural.

  993. 39:38

    Um, you know, you

  994. 39:42

    I don't know like you don't like it's

  995. 39:45

    just like it's like [ __ ] like Maggot

  996. 39:47

Town where I grew up at and like it

  997. 39:49

always has been and it's probably better

  998. 39:51

now than it was when I was a kid or it's

  999. 39:53

10 times worse in so many ways. So I

  1000. 39:56

think for me I was like it was it was

  1001. 39:59

really interesting because I think a lot

  1002. 40:00

of the people who I grew up around who

  1003. 40:02

    were incredibly homophobic are very

  1004. 40:04

supportive of me now that I am like a

  1005. 40:08

public person because I think the idea

  1006. 40:11

of fame and wealth can sometimes trump

  1007. 40:14

hate if it's close in proximity which is

  1008. 40:17

    really [ __ ] frustrating cuz I'm like

  1009. 40:19

I know you don't like anybody else who's

  1010. 40:21

gay and you don't like me either. You

  1011. 40:23

just like the idea of the closeness to

  1012. 40:26

like something that is very shallow. So

  1013. 40:29

much so that you're willing to like put

  1014. 40:31

your bigotry to the side for a second to

  1015. 40:33

be like, "Oh, I babysat her." I'm like,

  1016. 40:35

    "No, you're a [ __ ] homophobe and I

  1017. 40:37

don't like you to the day and I will

  1018. 40:40

never like you." My neighbors are

  1019. 40:41

boycotting Target for having like a

  1020. 40:43

pride line. I'm like, "I could give a

  1021. 40:45

    [ __ ] about y'all. I could give a [ __ ]

  1022. 40:47

about y'all." So that in that way really

  1023. 40:50

frustrated me cuz I was like you don't

  1024. 40:52

get to be like supportive of this thing

  1025. 40:54

now that it's easy for you and fun for

  1026. 40:56

you and something for you to [ __ ]

  1027. 40:58

brag about. Yeah. You must feel very

  1028. 41:00

used. So used. So used. And then on the

  1029. 41:05

other side of that, I like love being a

  1030. 41:08

lesbian and I love the lesbian community

  1031. 41:10

so much and I love like the communities

  1032. 41:11

    surrounding lesbians that like

  1033. 41:15

    like really [ __ ] with us. I don't know.

  1034. 41:16

So there's like there's really bad and

  1035. 41:19

there's really really good. Yeah. Yeah.

  1036. 41:21

Um I also like I love to watch people

  1037. 41:24

come out publicly who feel like they can

  1038. 41:27

and then like change their identity or

  1039. 41:30

not. It's just kind of I don't know.

  1040. 41:32

It's not for everyone but like for me it

  1041. 41:34

was definitely an integral part of my

  1042. 41:36

life. Well I think what you're talking

  1043. 41:38

about is that by doing it you're just

  1044. 41:41

kind of like leading by example. this

  1045. 41:44

    idea that

  1046. 41:46

everything doesn't have to be so

  1047. 41:48

serious. Like you can decide if as long

  1048. 41:50

as it's you deciding like then you can

  1049. 41:53

decide however and whenever and wherever

  1050. 41:55

you want. It can be in your parents

  1051. 41:57

house. It can be on SNL. It can be in a

  1052. 42:00

relationship. Like that is I think what

  1053. 42:04

if I may speak for myself like what Gen

  1054. 42:06

Z has done for me, right? What young

  1055. 42:09

people do for me is I came up at a time

  1056. 42:11

when labels meant meant so much. They

  1057. 42:15

    were

  1058. 42:16

not only were they lifelong, they were

  1059. 42:18

like tattoos, right? So people were very

  1060. 42:21

very afraid like what if I get something

  1061. 42:23

wrong? Basically, what if I get it wrong

  1062. 42:25

or like to your point, what if I want to

  1063. 42:27

change or what if I'm kind of 10% this

  1064. 42:30

and 90% that or what if I'm in the

  1065. 42:32

middle? There was no there was it was

  1066. 42:34

really binary. Yeah. And Gen Z because

  1067. 42:36

life has been so serious. Gen Z has kind

  1068. 42:40

of balanced it by saying like it's not

  1069. 42:43

that serious. Yeah. It's not that it's

  1070. 42:45

okay. It's make a mistake or not.

  1071. 42:47

Totally. Decide however you want. Relax.

  1072. 42:50

And there's some way that you did that

  1073. 42:52

and the way that you do that, the way

  1074. 42:54

    you live authentically, that's very

  1075. 42:55

relaxing. Mhm. And I think it's very

  1076. 42:58

cool. Yeah. Thanks. It's nice. I I like

  1077. 43:02

    I don't know. I enjoy it. I also just

  1078. 43:05

have like a big like group of like gay

  1079. 43:08

friends around me. Like I like have like

  1080. 43:10

my like gaggle of lesbians. So speaking

  1081. 43:13

of please um we do a thing here where we

  1082. 43:16

ask your friends or people that know you

  1083. 43:18

to talk well behind your back. They talk

  1084. 43:21

[ __ ] about me. No. Okay. I believe it.

  1085. 43:25

It's totally fine. No. It's got No, it's

  1086. 43:27

like it's like um it's like the on the

  1087. 43:30

It's like Mean Girls but not Mean Girls.

  1088. 43:32

It's the other side of it, which is

  1089. 43:34

basically we got um Cara Deivine. We

  1090. 43:37

    talked to her today. [ __ ]

  1091. 43:40

    Such a [ __ ] [ __ ]

  1092. 43:43

    [ __ ] Common [ __ ] Incredible. By the

  1093. 43:45

way, when we called her, she was in

  1094. 43:47

Paris and there was her her her partner

  1095. 43:49

was naked in the bed and so she was

  1096. 43:52

wearing headphones and like she looked

  1097. 43:54

she's so I mean superm models.

  1098. 43:58

Models are so hot. Models are so hot. We

  1099. 44:00

got to start talking about it more.

  1100. 44:01

Models are so [ __ ] hot. Let's just be

  1101. 44:03

clear. Models are so [ __ ] hot. I know

  1102. 44:06

a lot of Yeah, this is a hot take.

  1103. 44:08

Models are hot. Models are hot. Yeah.

  1104. 44:10

And they're pretty. They're pretty on

  1105. 44:12

camera. They're pretty during the day.

  1106. 44:14

They're pretty during the night. All the

  1107. 44:15

time. Yeah. Literally all the time.

  1108. 44:17

Yeah. Good job. Models. Cara wanted me

  1109. 44:19

to ask you a couple questions. Oh,

  1110. 44:20

please. I'm sure they're She had

  1111. 44:22

incredible questions. I was going to say

  1112. 44:23

I'm sure they're very PG and and very

  1113. 44:26

normal. Okay. And super Yeah, totally.

  1114. 44:29

First of all, what would your drag king

  1115. 44:31

name be? Oh my god. I know. I got I'll

  1116. 44:34

I'll let you think. It's so good. I got

  1117. 44:36

a little put on the spot and I Yeah.

  1118. 44:38

What did you say? Well, I picked what um

  1119. 44:42

    I I got nervous. That's okay. So, um I

  1120. 44:46

said, you know, like when you're trying

  1121. 44:47

when you're trying to figure out like

  1122. 44:48

your dancer name, your exotic dancer

  1123. 44:51

name, you do the um street that you grew

  1124. 44:54

up on and the your first pet. Oh, no. I

  1125. 44:58

didn't know that. Okay, this is cuz I

  1126. 45:00

What is this? It's probably because I

  1127. 45:03

this was said in like 1978. It's good.

  1128. 45:06

But um so my the street So I said

  1129. 45:09

Bradley Alangquin was my drag king name

  1130. 45:11

because that was the street I grew up on

  1131. 45:13

and I had a guinea pig named Bradley.

  1132. 45:15

Oh, I thought your guinea pig's name was

  1133. 45:16

Al Gangquin. No, I was like wait. Yeah,

  1134. 45:20

yeah, I know. But so so but anyway,

  1135. 45:22

we'll cut this part out. But no, I like

  1136. 45:24

it. I like it. I actually think it's

  1137. 45:26

    pretty strong.

  1138. 45:28

There's nothing worse than giving a drag

  1139. 45:30

name and people going, "Wait, what?

  1140. 45:32

Explain it." And then you have to

  1141. 45:34

explain it and then they go, "No, I like

  1142. 45:35

it." Well, Al Gangquin is where I was

  1143. 45:38

like I was more just like, "Where's the

  1144. 45:40

    guinea pig?" Yeah. Al Gangquin.

  1145. 45:42

Actually, yeah. So, but that was your

  1146. 45:44

street name. So, I just gave that to

  1147. 45:46

myself. But again, no one's ever going

  1148. 45:48

to hear this. We're going to cut all

  1149. 45:49

this out. And my social security is as

  1150. 45:51

    follows. Okay.

  1151. 45:54

So, what is your drag king name? And do

  1152. 45:57

you like I mean I I actually have to say

  1153. 46:00

like what I really love about you is

  1154. 46:02

like your experimentation with mask and

  1155. 46:04

fem. You do it a lot in your in your

  1156. 46:06

work and in the way you dress and I

  1157. 46:08

really relate to that because I'm always

  1158. 46:10

very confused about how to dress. 100

  1159. 46:13

100 fucking%. Very confused. And you

  1160. 46:15

present both often. Like you're you go

  1161. 46:18

back and forth and again you're showing

  1162. 46:19

us by example that you don't have to

  1163. 46:21

choose. Thanks. I've like watched so

  1164. 46:23

many people do it so well and who does

  1165. 46:26

it well? I mean, not to be like so

  1166. 46:29

annoying, but like my girlfriend does it

  1167. 46:31

really well. I wasn't going to say, but

  1168. 46:32

she really does do it well. Like she's

  1169. 46:34

fine as hell. What are you going to do?

  1170. 46:36

Yeah. Take me out. Like it's fine. She

  1171. 46:38

    really does. Um, [ __ ] I don't know. I

  1172. 46:42

mean, I boed I didn't know how to answer

  1173. 46:43

it. It's a really good question. I mean,

  1174. 46:46

we could think of some fun pun like um

  1175. 46:49

    you know, instead of

  1176. 46:52

you know, we instead of um Timothy

  1177. 46:55

Shalamé, you could be called Timothy

  1178. 46:58

    Shallay.

  1179. 47:01

    Is that good? That

  1180. 47:04

    That's it.

  1181. 47:06

    That's actually it, right? I can't even

  1182. 47:09

explain to you how much exactly that is

  1183. 47:14

    it.

  1184. 47:15

But it is. Oh my god, we did it. That's

  1185. 47:18

perfect. And then the other question she

  1186. 47:20

had, which was amazing. I'm sure. Who

  1187. 47:22

would be in your girl band? If you could

  1188. 47:24

put together a girl band, dead or alive,

  1189. 47:27

if you could put together a girl band.

  1190. 47:28

Good. Good question. Oh my god. Okay, I

  1191. 47:30

have a real one and I have a fake one.

  1192. 47:32

Okay, great. Okay, the real one would be

  1193. 47:34

    me, Karen Carpenter. Um,

  1194. 47:38

    uh Beyonce

  1195. 47:40

    and

  1196. 47:43

Oh, maybe like Queen Latifah or

  1197. 47:45

    something amazing. Something so sick.

  1198. 47:47

Dana Owens. I'm like, I love Queen

  1199. 47:50

Latifah. I'm like, please. That would be

  1200. 47:52

so hard. Have you Have you ever met her?

  1201. 47:55

Again, I was forced. Yeah. By Cara. How

  1202. 47:59

funny. She takes me up to everybody that

  1203. 48:01

I'm scared of. She is so great. Like no

  1204. 48:05

    surprise, but she's [ __ ] amazing.

  1205. 48:07

    She's amazing. She's [ __ ] amazing.

  1206. 48:09

She's so [ __ ] cool. And it was also

  1207. 48:11

just like so she is like timeless. She's

  1208. 48:13

so timeless to me. So that's your real

  1209. 48:15

band. Then what about you said you had a

  1210. 48:17

fake one. Yes. Fake band is me, Nene

  1211. 48:19

    Leaks, Ellen DeGeneres, and Wendy

  1212. 48:21

    Williams.

  1213. 48:24

    That's the one I want.

  1214. 48:26

That's the one I want. Yeah, that makes

  1215. 48:29

sense. I want that bad. keep talking

  1216. 48:31

about it. I'll take Who would be your

  1217. 48:33

manager of that band? Um, probably Cara.

  1218. 48:37

    She'd manage it. Yeah. Yeah, she'd she'd

  1219. 48:40

manage it. I don't know how much like

  1220. 48:42

managing would be like done, but I know

  1221. 48:44

that she'd manage it. And who would be

  1222. 48:46

your opening act if you guys went on the

  1223. 48:48

road? Maybe like um like you as your

  1224. 48:51

character from Inside Out. Oh my god. I

  1225. 48:54

would dress up as Joy and be your

  1226. 48:55

opening act. Yeah, that'd be super cute.

  1227. 48:58

That would be but no like head like face

  1228. 49:01

paint. Okay. Like your true face. Yeah,

  1229. 49:04

that would be like an acid trip. I would

  1230. 49:06

love to do acid while doing that.

  1231. 49:10

    Totally. I'd be like, "This is [ __ ]

  1232. 49:12

awesome." And then we also get Ellen to

  1233. 49:14

like do Dory as well. That would Oh,

  1234. 49:18

hold on. Now I see it now. Thank you for

  1235. 49:19

that. That's great. So, I'll come out as

  1236. 49:22

Joy from Inside Out and then Ellen will

  1237. 49:24

join me as Dory. Oh my [ __ ] And then

  1238. 49:26

you assume that's all we're going to see

  1239. 49:27

about crying. She comes back. She washes

  1240. 49:31

her face paint off and she comes back in

  1241. 49:33

the van as a girl group. Yeah.

  1242. 49:36

    I mean, [ __ ] Yeah. [ __ ] is right.

  1243. 49:39

That's sold out. As you as you would

  1244. 49:41

    say, that [ __ ] No, that [ __ ] Yeah,

  1245. 49:42

    that [ __ ] That does [ __ ] Yeah. Um,

  1246. 49:44

now, um, what are you listening to these

  1247. 49:47

days, watching, doing? Like how do you

  1248. 49:50

check out when you're like when you need

  1249. 49:53

to rest your brain or get away from the

  1250. 49:55

hard stuff? What's making you laugh?

  1251. 49:58

What are you Where do you go? I watch

  1252. 50:00

Are you Oh, sorry. Go. No. What do you

  1253. 50:02

watch? No, I'll cut myself. I love to

  1254. 50:04

hear what people are watching. I watch

  1255. 50:05

    SVU.

  1256. 50:07

Okay. I watch SVU. Which one? Law and

  1257. 50:10

Order with um Christopher Maloney. Uh

  1258. 50:14

Metate. That's right. So, talk to me

  1259. 50:16

about why that um that that's a good

  1260. 50:19

checkout for you. I love them. Yeah, I

  1261. 50:21

love them. Like, what the [ __ ] are you

  1262. 50:22

doing? Yeah. It's also the writing on

  1263. 50:25

that show is so crazy. It's so crazy.

  1264. 50:29

It's like got a burp dead. Yep. What a

  1265. 50:33

    shame. Raped. Absolutely. Whoa. No

  1266. 50:36

trigger warning, right? And then it's

  1267. 50:37

like cut. It's so intense and there's so

  1268. 50:41

much going on. and you're like, "Holy

  1269. 50:42

    [ __ ] this is um either I can't tell if

  1270. 50:46

this is awesome or if it's so so bad."

  1271. 50:49

And I think everyone would agree with

  1272. 50:51

that. It's quick and I need something

  1273. 50:54

that's quick cuz I don't want time to

  1274. 50:55

think about something else cuz then I'll

  1275. 50:57

start tweaking. And I also think

  1276. 50:59

Christopher Maloney is kind of [ __ ]

  1277. 51:01

jacked. And it's it's hot. He's not kind

  1278. 51:04

of [ __ ] jacked. Super jacked. Have

  1279. 51:06

you ever seen the picture of him in like

  1280. 51:08

a middle split when he did like Men's

  1281. 51:10

Health? this one. Love it. I'm going to

  1282. 51:13

say something. And I love Christopher

  1283. 51:14

    Maloney. I did a movie with him. I don't

  1284. 51:16

like men doing splits. Can I be honest?

  1285. 51:19

    I don't like I don't find that

  1286. 51:20

    attractive. I Yeah. Straight woman.

  1287. 51:23

    Totally. I don't enjoy flexible men. I

  1288. 51:26

    couldn't agree more. I don't like Oh,

  1289. 51:30

this is And some of my friends do this

  1290. 51:32

and that's okay. I do just want to flag

  1291. 51:34

some of y'all do this and that's all

  1292. 51:35

    right.

  1293. 51:38

I'm not big into boys flipping doing

  1294. 51:41

back flips. We got to cut that out. Oh,

  1295. 51:43

I don't like Okay. And this is just my

  1296. 51:46

person, right? You don't even like boys,

  1297. 51:47

but this is just my personal preference.

  1298. 51:49

But I totally agree. Any kind of like

  1299. 51:52

    goofy gymnastics. Totally. I've just

  1300. 51:55

    been like verbally and physically

  1301. 51:57

assaulted by too many like um theater

  1302. 52:00

boys, theater like twinks, the straight

  1303. 52:03

theater twinks who ruined my life as

  1304. 52:05

kids who were like, "Wait, I I do a

  1305. 52:07

flip." And so the director was like,

  1306. 52:08

"Front and center. Front and center."

  1307. 52:11

Like do that flip. Yeah. They're like,

  1308. 52:12

"Come on. Come on, Joey." And like Joy's

  1309. 52:15

only getting front and center because

  1310. 52:17

the director has a massive crush on him

  1311. 52:18

and he can do a flip. This is before

  1312. 52:20

your time, but there was a movie, a

  1313. 52:22

great movie called The Outsiders. Do you

  1314. 52:23

know that movie? heard of it. Okay. So,

  1315. 52:25

it was like based off of a book and it

  1316. 52:27

was all young Rob and young um Patrick

  1317. 52:30

Sees and all these boys and Tom Cruz is

  1318. 52:34

famously in it and he's one of the and

  1319. 52:36

it's one of his first films and he's

  1320. 52:37

like one of the bad guys and I remember

  1321. 52:39

being like he's cool and then he does a

  1322. 52:41

backflip in it and I was like tapped out

  1323. 52:44

immediately out immediately out. I lost

  1324. 52:46

he lost it for me. There's something

  1325. 52:47

    about it that's a bit vulnerable. I'm

  1326. 52:49

like wait cut that out. You're a boy.

  1327. 52:50

What are you doing? Yeah. And and look,

  1328. 52:53

I've seen you lift your leg. You are

  1329. 52:55

    very flexible.

  1330. 52:58

Now, girls can be flexible. Boys

  1331. 53:00

shouldn't be flexible. Boys shouldn't be

  1332. 53:01

allowed to be flexible. Cut that [ __ ]

  1333. 53:02

out. Cut that [ __ ] out now. But I've

  1334. 53:05

seen you sing and lift your leg like

  1335. 53:07

this where your leg is like up. And that

  1336. 53:09

that too is similar to the flipping.

  1337. 53:12

Something that people shouldn't do when

  1338. 53:14

they're singing. If you can do it, you

  1339. 53:16

should do it all the time. Oh, if you're

  1340. 53:17

like dancing or doing something [ __ ]

  1341. 53:19

    incredible, absolutely. But like people

  1342. 53:21

shouldn't do what I did. That was weird.

  1343. 53:23

I take back my thing though about boys

  1344. 53:25

in gymnastics for one one reason. Two

  1345. 53:28

times I found men doing gymnastics

  1346. 53:30

exciting. One was in Foot Loose when

  1347. 53:34

Kevin Bacon's stunt double um during his

  1348. 53:38

dance break. He swung on a high bar in a

  1349. 53:42

barn and I was like, "But that's cool.

  1350. 53:43

That's not cool. That was cool." I was

  1351. 53:45

like, "What are you doing on that pole,

  1352. 53:46

    you little [ __ ] That's cute. That's

  1353. 53:49

cute. That was cute. Okay. And I I liked

  1354. 53:52

    it and I I didn't it didn't bother me.

  1355. 53:54

Yeah. And um the other one was that

  1356. 53:56

great gymnast that was on the pommel

  1357. 53:58

horse that with the glasses. Obsessive.

  1358. 54:01

Okay. Cute. He can do that. But that's

  1359. 54:03

like their that's his job. That's his

  1360. 54:05

job. You know what? That's his job. If

  1361. 54:07

back flips are your and splits are your

  1362. 54:08

job, do it. Do it 10fold. Go for it.

  1363. 54:11

Love it. You're good at your job.

  1364. 54:12

Commit. If you're just doing it in the

  1365. 54:14

    middle of the street,

  1366. 54:16

keep walking. And I'm not saying that

  1367. 54:18

like if I could flip, which I can't. So

  1368. 54:21

I'm not like I'm not hating because I

  1369. 54:23

can't do it. Are you Wait a minute. Hold

  1370. 54:25

on. You just brought something up. Do

  1371. 54:26

you think we're hating on it because we

  1372. 54:27

can't do it? Literally, no. I think it's

  1373. 54:29

weird. I'm sorry. And that's And by the

  1374. 54:31

way, that doesn't mean that other people

  1375. 54:33

should say it's weird about anybody

  1376. 54:35

else, okay? Because I really like I love

  1377. 54:37

my friends and if they want to flip,

  1378. 54:39

    [ __ ] flip. It's just not my thing.

  1379. 54:42

It's not my thing. You know, if the back

  1380. 54:44

    flippers come for us,

  1381. 54:47

    they're going to [ __ ] whatever. I'm

  1382. 54:49

ready. If the back flippers come from

  1383. 54:50

us, we can just run away cuz they're

  1384. 54:52

back flipping all the time. But they'll

  1385. 54:54

kick us. They will kick us. Think about

  1386. 54:56

the strength in that in that thigh. I

  1387. 54:58

mean, have you ever done this where I

  1388. 55:00

love Law and Order? The original Law and

  1389. 55:02

Order, the first like 12 seasons like

  1390. 55:04

with Benji Brat and I've never watched

  1391. 55:06

    it.

  1392. 55:09

I'll lock in. It's so good with Jerry

  1393. 55:12

Orbach and Esapatha Merkasen as um the

  1394. 55:16

    lieutenant. It's just like it's it's the

  1395. 55:18

early Law and Orders that every it's the

  1396. 55:21

you know Sweet Generous. It's the mother

  1397. 55:23

ship that all of them were based off of

  1398. 55:25

    and

  1399. 55:27

they have that little exchange always

  1400. 55:29

before the bump bump and you can

  1401. 55:32

sometimes guess guess the last line.

  1402. 55:34

Absolutely. I love doing that. Oh my

  1403. 55:35

god. There was one last night I wish I

  1404. 55:37

could remember cuz it it's just so

  1405. 55:39

    crazy. It's so crazy. It's in I'm like I

  1406. 55:43

    can't imagine

  1407. 55:46

    delivering that line, right? Like

  1408. 55:48

there's a you know a body found in

  1409. 55:50

Central Park and someone's like, "Yeah,

  1410. 55:52

it was during the marathon, you know,

  1411. 55:54

and uh and uh the the the suspect was

  1412. 55:58

found here under the tree." And then

  1413. 55:59

Jerry Jerry Orbach comes over and just

  1414. 56:01

goes like, "Well, I guess he's not

  1415. 56:02

making it to the finish line today."

  1416. 56:04

Exactly. And you're just like, exactly.

  1417. 56:07

I cannot imagine having to deliver that

  1418. 56:11

line. I would walk out. I'd walk right

  1419. 56:15

on out of a set. I'd be like, you know

  1420. 56:16

what? I disagree. I think you'd nail it.

  1421. 56:18

Oh my god. I could my like what's it? Um

  1422. 56:23

    suspension of disbelief or something.

  1423. 56:25

I'm not I'm not good at that. If I get

  1424. 56:27

    like if there's a line that I'm like I

  1425. 56:29

can't do this, I like totally shut down

  1426. 56:31

as a as a person. I'm going to say that

  1427. 56:35

    you're underestimating yourself because

  1428. 56:36

what I have learned about you, Renee, if

  1429. 56:38

I may, is that you're pretty good at

  1430. 56:41

overriding nerves to get to level up.

  1431. 56:45

You've done it over and over again.

  1432. 56:47

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. How do you get through

  1433. 56:49

the the scary parts? What do you do? I

  1434. 56:53

really just don't take it seriously. I

  1435. 56:54

just do not take it seriously cuz when I

  1436. 56:56

take myself too seriously, I panic.

  1437. 57:00

Yeah. I panic because it's like often

  1438. 57:02

times it's truly not as much as I hate

  1439. 57:05

to say this, it's truly not about me.

  1440. 57:08

    So,

  1441. 57:10

and no one [ __ ] use that against me.

  1442. 57:12

But, you know what? I'm going to just

  1443. 57:14

finish by saying this. I've seen

  1444. 57:16

examples of you being you're like a very

  1445. 57:18

loving and supportive person in real

  1446. 57:20

time. And I know that about you and I

  1447. 57:23

heard that about you. Can you advocate

  1448. 57:25

for yourself the same way? Oh,

  1449. 57:26

absolutely. Okay, great. Oh, with a

  1450. 57:28

quickness. with a quickness. Yeah, cuz

  1451. 57:32

like people, you know, kids are

  1452. 57:34

    [ __ ] People are [ __ ] I was an

  1453. 57:35

    [ __ ] Like I'm sure there were so

  1454. 57:37

many times I can recall that like people

  1455. 57:39

were [ __ ] to me when I was growing

  1456. 57:40

up in school. And I guarantee that there

  1457. 57:42

were 10,000 times that I was so mean to

  1458. 57:45

somebody else for no reason because I

  1459. 57:47

was pissed at myself or pissed off at

  1460. 57:48

somebody else. So like I don't know.

  1461. 57:52

That's not to say that sometimes I'm not

  1462. 57:54

an [ __ ] I totally am. Yeah. But just

  1463. 57:56

like how you said earlier, you may want

  1464. 57:58

to identify as a nice person soon. I

  1465. 58:01

know. I might need to like tap into that

  1466. 58:04

like sort of like little like pigtail

  1467. 58:07

kind of infinity scarf girl again. Oh my

  1468. 58:10

god, we're back to the infinity scarf.

  1469. 58:13

Perfect. Full circle just like the

  1470. 58:14

    infinity scarf. Totally. I'm straight

  1471. 58:16

    again. You're straight again. I'm

  1472. 58:18

straight again. I'm That's what I do to

  1473. 58:20

    people.

  1474. 58:24

Sorry, ladies. I made Renee straight

  1475. 58:26

    again. [ __ ] I know. Don't worry. We'll

  1476. 58:28

get her back. We'll get her out of the

  1477. 58:29

room. We'll get her back. Yeah. Come out

  1478. 58:31

with the lesbians. You'll be You'll be

  1479. 58:32

    You'll be gay yourself. I I mean I wish

  1480. 58:35

Oh my god. Literally come out. We go out

  1481. 58:36

every weekend. Come out. Where are you

  1482. 58:38

    going this weekend? Literally wherever.

  1483. 58:41

Okay. That's not a place. The problem is

  1484. 58:44

wherever. The problem is I go out late.

  1485. 58:46

Um No. Well, yeah, but like you'll

  1486. 58:49

you'll be so fine. I promise. What time

  1487. 58:51

do you get leave the house?

  1488. 58:53

Like what time do you want to leave the

  1489. 58:55

house? I'm asking you what time does

  1490. 58:58

your night start? Like a nine. A nine?

  1491. 59:00

Oh, that's not bad. Yeah, cuz we'll get

  1492. 59:01

like dinner before cuz you need to eat

  1493. 59:03

    if you're going to go out. I can't I

  1494. 59:05

can't do two things. It's either one.

  1495. 59:07

It's out or dinner. I get it. I get it.

  1496. 59:08

I get it. You know what? I'm so sorry. I

  1497. 59:10

    can't go. That's okay. That's totally

  1498. 59:11

okay. I'm so I'm so stressed. I'm so

  1499. 59:13

    tired. Don't worry. Don't worry. And I

  1500. 59:16

know 9 means 9:30 and then it's going to

  1501. 59:18

take to get our food. lesbians super

  1502. 59:21

late and then and then my stomach is

  1503. 59:23

full and you know eating an ant acid.

  1504. 59:26

Yeah. And I'm going to have to take a

  1505. 59:27

pepsit or something. That's okay. But

  1506. 59:28

have a good time and tell me how it

  1507. 59:30

goes. 100%. I'll send you send you

  1508. 59:31

photos. Renee, thank you so much for

  1509. 59:34

doing this. This is so fun. Thanks for

  1510. 59:35

having me. This was a blast.

  1511. 59:39

Thank you Renee Rap. You were awesome.

  1512. 59:41

show where I just give little shout

outs. It's the polar plunge if you will
